Welcome to my blog! I have had a diverse and fulfilling career journey that has taken me from the high seas as a former deck officer cadet and able seaman, to the depths of the ocean as a Commercial Diver. In between, I proudly served in HM Forces British Army for 16 years, filling roles such as Army Diver, Navigator, Coxswain, and HGV Operator.
Since transitioning to freelancing in 2014, I have continued to expand my skill set and experiences, working as an HSE Commercial Diver, IMCA Diver Medic Technician, HGV Class 1 Driver, Mobile Crane Operator, Banksman Slinger, Barge Master, and Digital Marketer. Fouled Propeller
Introduction:
A fouled propeller can quickly turn a relaxing day on the water into a stressful situation. This common boating problem occurs when fishing nets or debris get wrapped around the propeller, impeding its performance. PM DIVING SERVICES CALL OUT! 📲
1. Mobilise 🔱
The team at PM DIVING SERVICES had a busy day recently at Williams Shipping, Berth 21 in Southampton docks.
They were called out to clear the fouled starboard propeller on the Will Challenger, and they certainly rose to the occasion. ⚓
2. Left Surface 🔱
Diver Tony wasted no time getting into the water at 1436 hrs, with Diver Jon on standby in case he needed assistance.
Diver Lez was also on hand, while Diver Baz operated the panels and Diver Mike supervised the operation.

3. Fouled Propeller 🔱
The propeller had been fouled by green fishing nets, which can be a common issue near busy shipping lanes as it snagged in the Dover area.
With skill and precision, the team was able to clear the obstruction and perform a thorough inspection, including the port side as well and checked the anode fixings. It was all in a day's work for this experienced team of divers. ⚓
4. Arrive Surface 🔱
By 1515 hrs, Diver Tony was out of the water and the Will Challenger was ready to sail off for sea trials, with Skipper Pat at the helm.
Head of engineering Andy ensured everything went smoothly.
It was a well-coordinated effort to get the propeller cleared as quickly and efficiently as possible. ⚓

It was a successful dive for the team at PM DIVING SERVICES, and they can take pride in a job well done. With their expertise and dedication, they were able to quickly resolve a potentially costly issue for the Will Challenger.
